Time Out says
'Cue lovers rejoice as the city's favored smokehouse, Bludso's, lands on La Brea Avenue. Get your fill of Compton's legendary low-and-slow goodness, available by the pound (quarter or half pound) alongside all the Southern fixings of collard green, cornbread and the like. Brisket ($18 for 1 pound, $10 for 1/2 pound) is king—we are in Lone Star territory, Kevin Bludso's roots, after all—but pork lovers can also get their fix: Smoked-ringed pulled pork ($16 for 1 pound, $8 for 1/2 pound), pork ribs ($12 half order, $24 full order) and addictive, chewy rib tips ($17 for 1 pound, $9 for 1/2 pound) appear on paper-lined baking trays. Open for dinner-only (for now, at least), communal tables are graced with paper towels by the roll that encourage messy consumption, while a huge bar—there's wine, beer, cocktails and even Fernet and Mint Julep on tap—make for fun, down home eating.
