It had been a while since this 17,500-seat space was the city’s go-to arena, and its fading halls were beginning to belie its rich history: “Showtime” Lakers, Gretzky-era Kings, ‘84 Olympics, Led Zeppelin, Queen and a ridiculously long set from Guns N’ Roses. The Crypto.com Arena (née Staples Center) had been hogging the spotlight ever since, but around the half-century mark the Inglewood venue regained some of its former glory. After a $100 million renovation—thanks to New York’s Madison Square Garden Company—the Forum (now with Kia branding at the front of its name) has shaped up to be fabulous once again, and the destination for arena shows.

A consummate pro, J.T. mixes Sinatra’s swagger and charisma with the airtight funk of Michael Jackson at his peak. Though the former NSYNC member’s last few albums haven’t quite lived up to the rest of his catalog, he’s still adept at making magic on stage night after night (especially when with an accompanying big band).
The steadiest and sturdiest of the great Seattle grunge titans—the only one that hasn’t lost a key member or taken an extended hiatus—rumbles into town for two arena gigs. Expect to hear raucous newer tunes as well as selections spanning a vast catalog that’s far more compelling than the band’s vocal haters would care to admit.
Chilean singer and multi-instrumentalist Norma Monserrat Bustamante Laferte, better known as Mon Laferte, serves up her warm blend of rock, blues, pop and cumbia.
Time to find your old fingerless gloves: Sort-of-emo-but-mostly-pop aughts fave Avril Lavigne is hitting the road, including a stop at the Forum. Expect to hear her greatest hits (“Sk8ter Boi” and the superior “Girlfriend” among them) on this tour of the same name.
After a stop last year at the Hollywood Bowl, Janet Jackson returns to town with a pair of arena dates—and a relentless stream of late-’80s hits—with support from Nelly.
Bowling Green, KY natives Cage the Elephant first found fame (strangely enough) in England, as well as with their showing at SXSW in 2007 and their eponymous debut album released the following year. Their take on classic garage punk is a chaotic listen that draws on psychedelia, ’70s southern rock, glam and contemporary indie: just the thing for a rollicking live show.
The short version: J.Lo is coming to town for concerts at both the Forum and the Honda center. The longer version (deep breath): The iconic singer and actor is in the midst of her three-part This Is Me… project, a document of the return of Bennifer that includes her latest record, This Is Me… Now, as well as a musical film adaptation dubbed This Is Me… Now: A Love Story, all of which factors into this tour, titled—you guessed it—“This Is Me… Now: The Tour.” But, you know, you’ll probably still hear her sing “Jenny from the Block” and “Let’s Get Loud” so that’s cool.
I’m broke but I’m happy because Alanis Morissette is playing the Forum (and, let’s face it, we’ll be even more broke once we shell out for tickets). The singer-songwriter who we’ve all attempted to emulate during drunken karaoke is hitting the road, and she’ll be playing all the hits (and probably even more classic songs than you remember). Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and Morgan Wade open the August 10 show at the Forum. And I’m here to remind you that tickets go on sale Friday, November 17 at 10am, with presales starting as early Tuesday, November 14.
A little bit piano ballad a little bit pop-punk, the “driver’s license” singer hits the road in support of GUTS, the follow-up to her smash album SOUR, with a few nights at the Forum.
