Alcove Cafe
Los Feliz

Housed in two historic bungalows, this cottage-like cafe serves up large plates of gourmet American classics (breakfast items served until 5pm, salads, wraps, paninis and more) loved by health-conscious locals. A popular brunch spot, expect to wait in a long, curvy line around the large garden patio during peak morning hours with homemade iced tea and lemonade poured for guests waiting in line. Be sure to grab Alcove's very own chocolate bars by the register (mimosa, red velvet, salted caramel are just a few flavors) as well as the plethora of baked goods in the pastry window. The adjacent Big Bar at Alcove offers hand-crafted cocktails, craft beers and fine wines alongside reinvented upscale bar food. Check the website for upcoming events such as live music and outdoor screenings.

This is a beautiful place to eat. There's no table service at this place—you line up and order at the counter. The outdoor area is surrounded by trees and it feels like you're dining in a secret garden. At night, there are twinkle lights so it's pretty romantic. The food is stellar—great selection of sandwiches, salads, brunch items, and pastries.
