This small Northern California chain has managed to keep its hippie cred intact since opening in 1966. The coffee is all grown organically; flavored coffees are conspicuous by their absence, though you're welcome to the cinnamon sticks. This particular location offers lovely people-watching (rich hippies, yummy mummies), particularly when the Sunday farmers' market is in full swing across the street.
