Schwartz Bakery is not the most authentic or tasty kosher bakery on Fairfax, but it certainly makes up for it by selling half-off day-old challah and pastries in the back of the store. Favorites at Schwartz are not so much the kosher bakery staples but rather pastries like chocolate chip mini danishes and chocolate croissants. They also have an impressive list of challahs that includes water, San Diego, dark and white chocolate chip, pull-apart and whole wheat.
