Rivals in the Ring

Wax your mustache and cut a cigar for a swell showcase of fisticuffs at the Los Angeles Athletic Club. The athletic center and social club has been hosting boxing matches since its founding in 1880, and Rivals in the Ring is keeping that tradition alive. Eight West Coast colleges will all send fighters into the ring for the LA Collegiate Boxing Invitational, including a cross-town clash between USC and UCLA. For those simply looking to socialize, the black-tie optional event includes hors d’oeuvres, a pre-fight buffet and post-fight dessert, as well as a whiskey tasting for VIP ticket holders.
