Madrid's most famous tapas route is back! The seventh edition of Tapapiés returns to fill the neighbourhood of Lavapiés with gorgeous food and drink, fun open-air concerts and a big party atmosphere over ten days in October.
Specifically, the big event is on from Thursday the 19th to Sunday the 29th, when you can sample more than 120 different tapas created by the 88 participating bars and restaurants as well as another 25 venues and gourmet shops in the Mercado de San Fernando and nine in the Mercado de San Antón. For just €2.50 you get a tapa plus a small bottle or draught glass of Estrella Damm beer. And remember that in addition to gastronomy, culture is another of the pillars of this delicious route through some of the best cuisines in the world, including Spanish.
Spread throughout the main streets and squares in Lavapiés you'll find 40 bands and 67 concerts, mainly on over the weekends of the 20th to the 22nd and the 27th to the 29th, from noon until well into the night. Spanish bands fuse rap, raw groove, French world music, capella, swing, rock 'n' roll, reggae, and more for you to get up and have a dance. You'll also be treated to street circus performances and kids' theatre, and discounts on performances in theatres and shops in the neighbourhood.
