The Beehive is further proof that going budget needn't entail slumming it. American owners Steve and Linda Brenner mix their penchant for design-icon furnishings (check out the Philippe Starck patio furniture), with reasonable rates and basic amenities, to create a 'youth hostel meets boutique hotel' vibe. There's a sunny garden, a cosy, all-organic restaurant and a yoga studio. The helpful staff provides a free in-house guidebook to the city, and there's free internet access. Breakfast is not included, but can be provided in the Beehive's café for an extra fee on request.
