10x10 Philanthropy invites you to attend an event supporting three emerging Adelaide-based charities presenting innovative solutions to complex social issues.

In the style of the popular UK TV show Dragon’s Den, the charities will deliver a pitch to the audience and answer questions posed by guest dragon, Amanda Blair. The best part? Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, guests receive the value of the ticket price in tokens, and then decide which charities to support on the night.

Our November event will raise funds for three extremely deserving causes:
- Rufus http://rufus.org.au/
- Essentials for Women SA https://www.e4wsa.org.au/
- Backpacks for SA kids http://backpacks4sakids.org/

...so, what is 10x10?

There are thousands of charities – how do you know where to start? How do you know where your money is going?

I do not to have enough time to find out what’s out there, or to know whether charities are legit. I’m not a millionaire, so how can I make a difference?

10 x 10 picks out three charities which it thinks are changing things up in how they’re working on complicated social issues in our communities. It does the due diligence on them so it knows they are of a scale where the collective contribution will make an impact – and that the funds will be fully leveraged to bring about social change.

Once three charities have been selected, 10 x 10 brings 100 people together for an evening event. Each guest contributes $100 in advance so that collectively the $100 turns into $10,000 (at least!). At the event, guests are then given their $100 back in the form of Charity Dollars to allocate to any of the three charities over the course of the evening.

Each of the three charities has five minutes to deliver their pitch in the style of the popular Australian TV show Shark Tank and the UK TV show, the Dragons Den. They pitch to the audience and to the resident Dragon for the evening. The Dragon questions each charity about their pitch and business model. When all the pitches are complete, the audience decide who and how much to donate based on whose pitches or cause inspired them the most. The pooled funds are then distributed to the charities based on the tallied up contributions. All costs for the event are covered by Event Sponsors to ensure every dollar raised on the night goes directly to the pockets of the charities
