Fresh from SOLD OUT performances in 2015 and 2016 to standing room only crowds for The Adelaide Fringe, Motown Connection are back by popular demand at The Gov to present "The Motown Story".
This great new updated show has more hits and classics from all the great Motown artists.
Before Disco, Funk, Soul and Modern R&B there was a musical movement out of Detroit “The Motor City” called MOTOWN. The Golden age of music between 1959 and 1971. This period produced 110 Top Ten Hits including the iconic songs: I Heard It Through The Grapevine, Dancing In The Street, You Keep Me Hanging On, Stop! In The Name Of Love and My Girl.
Remaining true to the original recordings, Motown Connection, including a FAT 5 piece Horn Section has “The Motown Sound”, a style of soul music with a distinct pop influence. Together they sing, dance and perform all of the MOTOWN hits from the great artists of the 60's and 70’s era.
Artists covered include: Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, Edwin Starr, Tammi Terrell, Mary Wells, Kim Weston and Mary Wilson
Groups covered include: The Jackson 5, The Four Tops, Martha and the Vandellas, The Temptations, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles and The Marvelettes.
