The best sushi spots in Bengaluru

Where to find sushi that slaps harder than Friday traffic at Silk Road.

Sushi in Bengaluru used to be a trust exercise ten years ago. You’d order it half-expecting disappointment, the way you brace for traffic on Outer Ring Road, but somewhere along the way, the restaurants in the city pulled up their socks. Now, there are chefs quietly perfecting their rolls, slicing fish with calm precision, and plating maki that holds its shape even when you can’t grip your chopsticks right.

What makes Bengaluru’s sushi scene work is that it's evolved quietly and assuredly – which means that what you're getting is rolls prepared with genuine care, not dishes created specifically for Instagram. The result is sushi that doesn’t pretend to be totally authentic, but isn’t too desi, either. And after witnessing the ups and downs of Japanese cuisine in the city, I can safely say that this guide's covered pretty much all the places that won't let you down.

What is it? A modern Japanese-leaning spot in Indiranagar that keeps the sushi list tight.

Why go? The food shows care without fuss, the service is top notch, and the restaurant’s not overly noisy. The Uma and Avocado rolls, especially, are fresh and neatly made, and the rice comes slightly warm and well seasoned – the mark of good sushi. The menu’s compact, so you end up choosing a few good things rather than deliberating for twenty minutes. It’s a restaurant you can sit at peacefully, talk at a normal volume, and eat heartily without feeling like a pig.

Time Out tip: Chat with the chefs at the counter – they’ll tell you what’s freshest.

Price: About ₹1,000-1,500 for two.

Timings: Tue-Sun. Closed Monday. 12.30pm-3pm and 7pm-11pm.

Address: 621A, 12th Main Rd, 7th Cross, HAL 2nd Stage, Indiranagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka, 560008

What is it? A fine-dining import that treats sushi like theatre.

Why go? The KOKO Signature Roll with prawn tempura and avocado is indulgence wrapped in rice. The Wild Salmon & Truffle Roll (and maybe even the Golden Maki & White Truffle Cream Cheese Roll) is the kind of order you justify later (hefty price point!), but never regret. It’s also particularly great for date night, thanks to the dim lighting and well-curated playlist.

Price: ₹3,000 for two

Timings: Daily. 12 noon-4pm and 7pm-1am.

Address: Prestige Icon, 4121/S HAL, 2nd Stage Kodihalli, Jeevan Bima Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka, 560008

What is it? A conveyor-belt sushi bar.

Why go? You get to pick plates by colour, the rolls are made fresh, and the energy’s high, but thankfully, it never feels too overstimulatory. The Lucky Chan Special Roll and Spicy Tuna Maki are fan favourites, but the real joy is grabbing your pick before someone else does. It's one of those places where the experience elevates the food.

Time Out tip: Counter seats get the best picks first.

Price: ₹1,500 for two.

Timings: Daily. 12 noon-11pm (Mon-Thu) and 12 noon-12 midnight (Fri-Sun).

Address: 594, 12th Main Rd, 2nd Stage, HAL 2nd Stage, Indiranagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka, 560008

4. Sante Spa Cuisine, Domlur

What is it? A vegetarian restaurant that somehow manages to make you feel excited about vegan sushi.

Why go? Sante’s rolls skip the fish, but they definitely don’t skimp out on flavour. The texture and freshness of their ingredients, like purple rice, avocado, and microgreens, elevates the roll, and makes you almost forget about the meat. The Avocado Dynamite Roll and Crackling Midori Roll are light, clean, and surprisingly satisfying.

Time Out tip: Try the purple rice with a kombucha – it shouldn’t work, but it does.

Price: ₹900 for two.

Timings: Daily. 11am-11pm.

Address: 151 2nd Stage 2nd Cross, Domlur, Indiranagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560071

5. Nasi & Mee, Koramangala

What is it? A neighbourhood Pan-Asian restaurant with standout sushi.

Why go? The rolls here are consistent, and the sauces stay where they belong. The Dynamite Roll brings crunch and spice, while the Philadelphia Sushi Roll is an easy crowd-pleaser. The restaurant is lively without being loud, and most people order seconds.

Time Out tip: Half rolls are the move. You’ll want to try more than one.

Price: ₹1,800 for two.

Timings: Daily. 12 noon-11pm.

Address: 974, 80 Feet Rd, 4th Block, Koramangala, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560034

6. Daily Sushi (Multiple Outlets)

What is it? The closest thing Bengaluru has to an everyday sushi joint.

Why go? You can count on it. Whether it’s a Salmon Nigiri or Cream Cheese Salmon, the quality stays consistent across outlets. They even do sushi boxes for when you want a solo dinner that feels mildly celebratory. It’s no-frills, and affordable enough to make sushi a midweek habit.

Time Out tip: Dine in if you can. Rolls taste better before they’ve travelled across the city.

Price: ₹800-1,000 for two.

Timings: Daily. 12 noon-12 midnight.

7. Yuki, Koramangala

What is it? A pan-Asian bar where beer meets nigiri.

Why go? The Ebi Tempura and Yasai Futomaki Age are fresh and clean, and the maki rolls come big enough to share. It’s lively, and the food pairs better with a pint than a cocktail. Great for when you want sushi without formality, and the sort of place you’d go with a large group of friends.

Time Out tip: Ask for the chef’s special if it’s on the board, since they rotate weekly.

Price: ₹2,200 for two.

Timings: Daily. 12 noon-12 midnight.

Address: 4, 3rd Floor, 100 Feet Rd, KHB Block Koramangala, 5th Block, Koramangala, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560095

8. Far & East, Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru

What is it? A rooftop Pan-Asian restaurant with a great skyline view of the city.

Why go? Every now and then, it’s worth the extra spend for a really good meal. The sushi menu’s refined, and the standout item right now has to be the Peking Duck Sushi Roll from their Symphony of Duck special menu. The duck skin’s crisp, the rice is well seasoned, and the hoisin glaze ties the whole thing together. The other stuff’s good too – nigiri, maki, and other classics. Part of the dining experience is obviously the view – Bengaluru looks great from the 21st floor, and the restaurant’s got massive windows and well-spaced tables, so you can chit chat without being overheard.

Price: About ₹4,000-5,000 for two.

Timings: Daily. 12.30pm-3pm, 6pm-11pm (Mon-Thu) and 12.30pm-3pm, 6pm-11.30pm (Fri-Sun).

Address: 8, Bellary Rd, Dena Bank Colony, Armane Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560032

9. Edo, ITC Gardenia

What is it? An elegant fine-dining Japanese restaurant that’s worth the spends.

Why go? Edo isn’t the kind of place where you rush through dinner. The space is done up in a very calming fashion, with wood panels, warm lighting, soft chatter, and an efficient sushi counter. The sushi menu’s mostly only classics: salmon, tuna, crabstick, avocado, and inari rolls, each perfectly sized and balanced. There’s no fusion drama or extra sauces, the fish is fresh, and the service knows when to appear and when to disappear. It’s an expensive meal, yes, but one that feels worth it when you realise how rare this level of care is.

Price: ₹3,500-4,500 for two.

Timings: Tue-Sun. Closed Monday. 12.30pm-2.30pm and 6.30pm-11.30pm.

Address: 1, Residency Rd, Ashok Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560025
