Time Out says

Couqley is a chic French bistro, which can be found down the end of ‘The Alleyway’ in Gemmayzeh. Inside you’ll find a stylish restaurant that has an authentic feel of a classy French diner. It has a menu for every time of the day and they are all packed with classic French dishes, many of which taste as though the recipe has been passed down through the family. Chefs use local produce whenever it is in season, and the freshness of the dishes is testament to this.

You can enjoy a typically French meal here and even opt for classics like foie gras or escargots (snails). You don’t have to go straight in at the deep end, however, with traditional offerings such as steak frites, duck and moules frites available. If you can’t make it for dinner, then you can go for either their brunch menu, or their weekday lunch menu. Both this Gemmayzeh restaurant and the Blueberry Square sister in Dbayeh are recommended as being among the best French restaurants in Beirut.
