Throw away that greasy fried chicken and say no to that kebab of unidentified provenance: Smoking Bun is the discerning carnivore's takeaway of choice. Jumping on board the gourmet burger bandwagon, the restaurant fills the stomachs of evening revellers and lazy students with panache. There's only one sort of meat – beef – which can be cooked medium or well done; there's the option of added cheese and extra chips. Otherwise, you have no choice. That said, that one burger has been perfected. There is space to sit inside, but it is very limited, and at 2am it can get very busy. When you’ve finished a night's drinking in Mar Mikhael, Smoking Bun is the meaty sobering light at the end of the tunnel.
