The Hangout in Gemmayzeh, is a beautiful restaurant that is run out of an old Lebanese house. The name is a bit of a misnomer as it is more of a high end restaurant than a ‘hangout’. Inside, classic Lebanese architecture from the turn of the 20th century is mixed with 21st century interior design. The effect is to create a wonderful dining environment that straddles new and old while remaining fashionable in both.
There is also a small shop with some beautiful designed art and crafts. If viewed as a steakhouse you can’t really go wrong with The Hangout. A variety of beef dishes are prepared to a high standard and a variety of side dishes and sauces will complement this order well. Other dishes, mainly European cuisine are served and there is usually a pasta dish of the day worth asking about.
