Indian mythology comes alive in a vibrant dance piece presented as part of Confluence: Festival of India in Australia

The Kalakshetra Foundation in Chennai is an academy dedicated to dance and music that was founded in 1936.

Acclaimed for its incredible technique, Kalakshetra stages dance-dramas based on Indian mythology, as well as folk dance performances and classical Bharathanatiyam dance pieces.

The foundation is in Perth for the Confluence Festival and will be performing Jataya Moksham, a story from epic poem the Ramayana about the killing of a noble eagle. The performance is at Studio Underground at the State Theatre Centre.

Confluence: Festival of India in Australia is the most significant showcase of Indian arts and culture ever to be staged in Australia.
