Spoken Word Perth says
At our next event, BRAINS, we want you to tell us what’s on your mind. What’s been eating you? What are you thinking about right now? Summon all your best memories and prepare to exorcise your deepest, darkest thoughts. We want to hear your stream of consciousness poems and what you’ve been dreaming about lately and whether you think horses begrudge humanity (apparently that is the stream of my consciousness).

Join us on Weds, 12th October, step up to the OPEN MIC and turn your inner monologue inside out. TEN SPOTS AVAILABLE. TEN SPOTS AVAIALBE, five minutes each. Five spots will be available on our Facebook an hour before the event and five at the venue itself. Spots are first-come, first-serve and fill up fast, so make sure to be on time if you want to secure one.

As you may know, Oct 8-15th is Mental Health Week 2016 , so we’ve invited the Said Poets Society to perform and, hopefully, make you feel good. Expect some familiar and unfamiliar faces and feelings to put in an appearance… As you may also know, October is Halloween month, so zombie poems are 1000% encouraged.

Speaking of which, MC/Human Fruit, JESSIE APPLEYARD will also be on hand to introduce performers, stare off into space for minutes at a time and try to hide a suspicious bite mark that she swears is just a scratch but, oh my god, she’s been bit, guys. You guys, she’s been bit! Oh God. Oh, what do we do now? What do we have to do now?

Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram (@spokenwordperth) for more from our features in the lead up to the event and, as always, we hope to see you.
