Khatunaya says
There are many forms of meditation. Some methods involve sitting in stillness. Other forms require chanting, singing, music or sound and vibrational work. The Dreaming Dance is a movement meditation that draws on techniques used by mystic traditions from the East and West.
Anyone who has experienced an ecstatic trance dance will tell you that movement of the body in time with powerful music brings on a deep stillness of the mind. It is only when the mind is still that the heart can begin to open. When one attains open-heartedness, transcendent Bliss arises filling one's consciousness. Such encounters with Bliss can best be described as a meeting with the Divine Aspect of ourselves.

Music and dance are central to the mediation practices of the Sufis. I spent most of 1985 in Konya, Turkey soaking up all I could of Sufi culture so I have direct experience of this form. In my opinion Ecstatic Dance has the potential to erase the weight of the Past. In this state of Bliss Fear of the future simply melts away leaving only the music and the moment. The Dreaming Dance is a deeply cleansing experience that offers a glimpse of our true nature- Transcendent Aliveness. It is a celebration as much as a spiritual practice.
In the midst of all the frantic distractions of the Modern World it's easy to forget that joy, playfulness, exploration and wonder are at the very root of what it is to be human. Ecstatic dance encourages us to honour our childlike nature as an important part of our lives.

Come and be lifted up by the most exquisite music supporting an profound inner journey- a journey to the heart. Dance with us into a state of ecstatic Bliss as we share techniques from the Sufi and Vedic traditions, blended with our own flavours and influences. This Dreaming Deep is going to be very special. We're going to be joined by a few very wonderful musicians who'll help us to lift this practice to the next level.
