In recent years the campaign to ‘recognise’ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australia’s Constitution has gained public attention. Professor Mick Dodson AM is Director of the National Centre for Indigenous Studies at The The Australian National University and Professor of Law at the ANU College of Law. Among many other accomplishments, including being named 2009 Australian of the Year, Professor Dodson was Australia’s first Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner. Here he will speak on what he believes is a central problem - that the Australian Constitution differentiating between people based on race remains a major social justice issue in need of addressing

The address will be followed by a reception at the University Club, hosted by the Professor Ronald M and Dr Catherine H Berndt Research Foundation.
