UWA Student Guild says
// CALL TO ACTION //

On Wednesday UWA Vice Chancellor Paul Johnson announced that 200 professional staff and 100 academic staff will be cut at the start of 2016.

This move by the University is an attack on staff, teaching quality, and student experience at UWA. It is appalling that the VC would announce such a severe cut to staff just before the holidays, leaving staff members with no job certainty over Christmas and asking "am I one of the 300?"

The NTEU has spoken out against this decision, citing it as unfair and in breach of the University's legal obligations, and has called on staff, students, alumni, and unionists to stand against the Vice Chancellor on this.

// DETAILS //

We invite you to join us for the Vice-Chancellor's Christmas Party at the University Club tomorrow, Friday 11th December from 3pm to protest against this act by the University and show solidarity with the staff and NTEU.

Meet outside with banners and flags, ready to stand in support of staff at UWA and against this insulting treatment of staff which is damaging to the University and its reputation.
