Great attention to detail that has gone into the design of this elegant little restaurant, with its prettily upholstered furniture, its discreet modern art, funky recessed fish tanks and its delightfully chic nooks. Staff are a sophisticated bunch (as are, by and large, the clientele) and the kitchen does its best to do them justice. The bar area serves oysters, champagne and (during the day) delicious soup, croque monsieurs and steak sandwiches. Night-time gets fancier: monkfish with ginger confit, perhaps or seared scallops served with coriander seeds, tomato sauce vièrge and chervil. The extensive wine list is well thought-out, affordable and dangerously tempting.
