Looking every bit as stellar as its two Michelin étoiles would suggest, Guilbaud's is pretty much the top table in town (although you may find it hard to properly enjoy your meal unless someone else is paying). The suited lunch clientele overcome this problem courtesy of their expense accounts but Dublin's gourmets and gourmands also line up alongside them, happy to exchange their own hard-earned cash for the chance to eat dishes like Wicklow venison fillet in mulled wine, served with apple polenta, crisp muesli, balsamic and grue de cacao reduction. But be warned: if you go off-piste here and start ordering cheese, dessert, and maybe that second bottle of wine, you will be forced to sell your house/partner/children to settle the bill. Although, of course, you might well consider that a fair exchange.
