Gruel review Rate it

Gruel continues to rule the eating-out agendas of Dublin's bright but modestly-off young things. And with its belly-filling bonanzas of hot roast-in-a-roll (weekdays only), hearty weekend brunches, soup served in huge bowls, pizza slices, own-made cakes and brownies, all at affordable prices, it's easy to see why. Its grown-up sister restaurant is next door (Mermaid), where you can expect something a little more formal, but you'll be missing out on the charms of laid-back staff, higgledy-piggledy interior design and, most importantly, roast turkey with stuffing and cranberry crammed into hot own-baked rolls.
