Florence

  • Rated as: 4/5
  • Critics choice

That the people behind the light, modern Florence care about beer is obvious from the phenomenal range on offer and the helpful tasting notes on all the pumps.

White Horse

  • Rated as: 3/5

The White Horse attracts an adult, professional but as-yet-unnested clientele happy to enjoy the generous opening hours. It’s all slightly clubby yet laid-back.

Prince Regent

  • Rated as: 3/5
  • Price band: 2/4

Large airy pubs with an outdoor terrace (even one adjacent to a busy bus route) and plenty of room for pushchairs are always going to be popular in this area.

Lounge

  • Rated as: 3/5

Its open windows facing the Front Line Brixton Ltd grocery store across Atlantic Road, the Lounge offers a relaxed retreat amid buzzy Brixtonia.

Effra

  • Rated as: 3/5

Four-pint pitchers of Red Stripe, ska turned up nice and loud, tip-top Guinness, jerk chicken and rice, unfeasibly friendly bar staff and two pull-down screens for sports. This is Effra.

Em yeah Tony D, please keep these places out of Time Out. The property and bar prices have sky rocketed since Brixton Village and the 'groovy feckers' moved in. Let's please keep some things to ourselves! Top Tip - If I were visiting I'd certainly go to Brixton Village and the vegan cup cake shop. Yum yum!

The new place where the Z Bar used to be! Veranda i think its called! brilliant cocktails and classy Caribbean food, and the bar looks really cool, like an artwork

Where's the the Prince Albert? Or the Beehive? Or the Trinity? These are proper Brixton pubs for non groovy feckers. The band nights at the Albert are particularly spot on.
