  • Hidden gem - cosy and intimate. A lovely hideaway from hustle and bustle for a good glass of red wine and nibbles after our night in the Hippodrome

  • I love this place!!! I definitely do not agree with the former review. We (My friends & family) and I have been coming here for years. Whether its for after work drinks with the girls in one of their popular alcoves or a family birthday celebration. The new food menu has been revamped and its moving with the times. The introduction to table service has been welcomed with open arms ..lets face it when you have had a few the last thing you want to do is re order up at the bar!!! Good work to the staff and new management for breathing new life into a classic hot spot.

  • Used to be up there with the best of them but the new owner of the C&B has disappointed. Table service is welcome in theory but when you finish your food before your wine arrives, it's pointless. Three times I ordered a drink before I got it. In the end, we went to the bar ourselves and got Vash to help us out. Burgers now appear on those dreadful wooden boards you get in gastro pubs. No thanks. And where's the Daily Mail gone from the loos? Lastly, the new computer screens the waitresses use are free for to read, including what to "PUSH" on customers. Tacky, disappointing. Bring back the old C&B!
