The Taste attracts foodies of all types to the Paramount back lot for a weekend to sample some of the best food and wine LA has to offer. Opening Night welcomes The Times's top-tier food staff and many of the weekend's featured chefs for a spattering of tastings (both edible and drinkable) from dozens of eateries around the city. The weekend's remaining highlights include "Field to the Fork," hosted by Times Food Editor Russ Parsons and Nancy Silverton, chef and co-owner of Osteria Mozza and Pizzeria Mozza, and founder of La Brea Bakery. Saturday evening's "Dinner with a Twist" features live food/cocktail demos from Rivera chef and owner John Sedlar and master bartender Julian Cox. The weekend rounds out with a Sunday Brunch, followed by a colorful "Flavors of LA" cooking event. In addition, various Times editors and writers—including, most notably, food critic Jonathan Gold—will host daily panel discussions and demonstrations on topics from farm-to-table cuisine to how to mix the perfect cocktail.
