When you’re dining out with your parents, no ordinary destination will do. Forget your go-to greasy spoon, you need a place that’s comfortable and exceptional with prices that still stay within reason (regardless of who’s picking up the bill). So we tapped our community of Tastemakers to share where they like to eat with their parents, be it for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day or a Sunday brunch.

Where to eat with your parents

  • Restaurants
  • Vegan
  • Silver Lake

For a nice dinner out, I love going to Little Pine with my parents. For the most part we eat vegan, so this spot offers a nice variety of options and provides a fine-dining experience. Last time we were there we practically ordered the whole menu—and honestly everything was ridiculously good. Plus, we love that the restaurant’s profits are donated to various animal charities. —Ren Harris

I take my parents to Maple Block Meat Company every time they’re here. Each meal (brunch, lunch, dinner) is a different experience and it’s perfect for parents who are hesitant to try something new. It’s elevated barbecue that’s still accessible, and the lights are typically bright enough for my parents to read the menu. —Andrea Jones

Mercado! It has a great atmosphere and there’s something for everyone on the menu. And it’s darn good. —Jen Matichuk

I took my parents to Robata Jinya (on 3rd) during a recent visit, as ramen is a go-to comfort food for me, and the restaurant always has a lively but casual energy to it. My parents hadn’t had much ramen before, but since our meal they’ve sought out local ramen shops in their hometown! —Bryan Chabrow
