Hidden Treasures Summer Reading Kickoff

Brooklyn's Central Library kicks off its annual summer reading initiative by hosting a big party on a weekday when public school kids aren't in school. The free all-day event features a slew of activities, from face painting and balloon sculptures to musical performances and appearances by special guests. Families can also pick up new library cards.
