Chelsea Climbers

There are more ways than ever for New York City kids to stay active (no sports team or uniform required), from flying on a trapeze in Brooklyn to cardio-sculpting classes for tweens on the Upper West Side.

Cardio Fit 4 Kidz
The workout Like a junior version of your favorite cardio-sculpting class, this 45-minute session for the tween set combines high-powered aerobics, boot camp drills, core moves and balance exercises led by enthusiastic certified trainers. Fitness games and fun props like balls and hula hoops give the class a kid-friendly feel, while upbeat pop music keeps energy levels high.
Sweat factor 4/4
Ripley Grier Studios, 131 W 72nd St between Columbus and Amsterdam Aves (212-724-7833, cardiofit4kidz.com). Fall session begins Sept 15. Ten classes $375, drop-in rate $38 per session. Ages 7 to 12.

Exerblast
The workout Tribeca's new adventure gym does Wii and Kinect one better, melding video-game story lines with obstacle course challenges, including a revolving rock wall, a light-sensor-equipped jungle gym, dance games and a field of core-strengthening fitness balls. Individual monitors even measure step counts, time, distance and calories burned. Kids will have so much fun trying to save the virtual planet Botania from losing its Xi energy that they'll hardly realize they're getting a serious workout.

Karma Kids Yoga
The workout You'll find classes for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, elementary schoolers and teens at the city's only yoga studio dedicated exclusively to children and families. Songs, music, games and stories keep even the very youngest yogis engaged, while older kids practice more challenging poses such as headstands. There are even special classes where tots come dressed in their PJs and do downward dog poses with their favorite stuffed pals.
