Let the kiddos take a breather from the concrete jungle and relax at this country oasis. The constant stimulation of city life falls away once they reach the 200-acre campus of scenic farmland, gardens and trails that inspire a special connection with the environment. In the mix, along with typical day-camp fare like archery, rock climbing, swimming and storytelling, are natural explorations—like hands-on time at the resident chicken coop, planting and weeding in the gardens and healthy cooking classes using organic, local ingredients. Get ready for homemade pizza! Kids ages 6 to 12 can sign up for Farm & Garden Days (Aug 8 to 19), which focuses on harvesting and include plenty of animal encounters. Experienced campers (ages 8 and up) even head out for full-day hiking trips in Harriman State Park as well as one- and two-night backpacking trips, during which they camp and canoe on the Delaware River. Ages 4–16.
