Bryant Park's skating rink opens on October 26th
Wed Oct 10 2007
It’s that time of the year again: get ready to stumble or glide (depending on your skill level) your way through the tourist crowds on Bryant Park’s ice skating rink. The weather might be showing no hints of winter yet, but at least heavy layers of clothing won’t be restricting your movement anytime too soon.
Bryant Park prides itself in being the only free admission skating rink in the city, so expect—as always—to share the experience with hundreds of other people. Over 200,000 skaters are expected this season. This definitely isn’t a place to rehearse your leaps or pirouettes, but rather partake in a veritable Manhattan tradition.
Fri 26 through mid-January. Sun-Thu 8am-10pm, Fri, Sat 8am-midnight. Bryant Park, 42nd St and 6th Ave (866-221-5157, bryantpark.org). Subway: B,D,F,V to 42nd St—Bryant Park.
