Czech it Out!
Wed Oct 3 2007
With the kids off school on Monday, you're going to be occupying them for three full days this weekend. Luckily, Saturday is the 9th Annual Czech Street Festival–a celebration of Czech Independence Day–where you and the kids will be entertained all day long. The Kids’ Corner will be open from 1-5pm, when they can watch a clown show, get balloons, participate in arts and crafts, have their faces painted, enjoy magic tricks, and hear the classic Czech fairy tale about a little mole. There will also be Czech music, books for sale, and of course, traditional Czech food–dumplings, goulash, meat sausages, fried potatoes, and apple strudel. Enter the free raffle to win cool prizes, including the big one–a trip for two to Prague.
Sat 6 1-7pm. 83rd St between Park and Madison Aves (212-288-0830, czechcenter.com). Subway: 6 to 86th St. FREE.
