Serendipity 3 shut down by Health Department
Thu Nov 15 2007
File this under GROSS: The Department of Health shut down dessert mecca Serendipity 3 after it miserably failed a second inspection. According to ABC news, "An inspector spotted a live mouse and mouse droppings, fruit flies, house flies and more than 100 live cockroaches" on Wednesday night.
This isn't quite as bad as that time the Taco Bell in the Village was infested with rats, and we all had to see the photos over and over again. But still.
Then again, we haven't been fans of Serendipity since we realized the minimum wait was usually over an hour. Seriously, the frozen hot chocolate isn't that good.
For the best hot cocoa in the city, try one of these picks, instead.
