Should "helicopter" parents be grounded?

Are you a "helicopter" parent? An article in yesterday's New York Post job section says that parents who hover (hence the helicopter) around their children can often be a problem later in life as children enter the workplace. So the math looks something like this: Writing a sick note for your 6-year-old to take to his/her elementary school = good parent; calling in sick for your 26-year-old who works on Wall Street = helicopter parent.
