The New Victory debuts its Zoem! Dutch Theater series on Friday, January 6

Theater fanatics can get a taste of the Netherlands performance world this month when theater companies from the European country bring their shows to the New Victory Theater. Adapted from Michael Ende's tale Ophelia's Shadow Theatre, this two-performer show combines storytelling, puppetry and music to tell the story of a little girl who acquires shadows as friends and takes them on an extraordinary adventure. Ages 6 and up. Fri Jan 13 at 7pm; Sat Jan 14, Sun Jan 15 at noon, 5pm. Duke on 42nd Street.
Straight from Sesanstraat, the Dutch version of Sesame Street, Lejo the puppeteer uses music and props to create a quirky cast of characters, among them a monster who eats fingers and a high-strung pianist.
