Fortunate Dim Sum, sister restaurant to Swa Tow Restaurant serves a vast array of 40 dim sum classics, including baked egg tarts and deep fried BBQ pork buns. You’ll also be able to find hawker favourites like yuan yang fried carrot cake – a combination of white and black carrot cake, replete with a smoky wok hei aroma – from Thye Hong Hokkien Mee. Well-known chains like Guan Chee HK Roast and Lam’s Noodle & Salt Baked Chicken also have outlets at the new Food Republic. To celebrate its opening, Lam’s is offering an outlet-exclusive dish – the mighty green chilli boneless thigh noodle ($7.90), which consists of noodles tossed in a green chilli pesto and served with salt-baked boneless chicken thigh.
