Halcyon & Crane has been one of the more well-loved F&B joints at The Paragon ever since they first opened in 2018, but this sister establishment to fusion Sichuan restaurant Birds of a Feather is not about to get complacent just yet. The café has recently given their menu a timely refresh, while retaining the trademark Sichuanese mala-infused flavours that they’re known and loved for.
Try the new crab omelette with avocado toast, an all-day brunch dish where the addition of generous crab stuffing elevates a regular egg omelette.
If you enjoy a blend of contrasting flavours, check out the duck confit & pancake, another fresh addition to the list. Here, a spiced duck leg is served with wine cherry sauce, cream cheese puree, a sunny side up egg, pancakes, maple syrup, and granola. That many elements in a single dish can be confusing and overwhelming for the taste buds, so we wouldn’t recommend mixing everything together in a single bite. Instead, mix and match two to three items at once to see which combinations you like the best.
Fans of the crowd favourite Dan Dan Spaghettini need not worry, as this dish remains on the menu – as it should. Topped with a generous amount of pork ragu, alongside kale and an onsen egg, this fiery comfort dish will have you coming back for more. Those who can’t take spice can request for a less spicy or non-spicy version.
While you’re there, get some sharing starters like the crispy squid or seared gyoza with truffle pumpkin sauce, black fungus, and Japanese cucumber.
Halcyon & Crane serves cocktails like the fruity white wine-based Lychee Lady and vodka-based Chocolatini, but for something less sinful, go for the detox fruit tea or oriental hawthorne tea.
