It's not Mid-Autumn Festival without colourful and brightly-lit lanterns. You can find all that and more at Gardens by the Bay's celebration, which has returned with nine spectacular lantern sets, cultural performances and workshops, and a selection of tasty food.
Themed Garden of Blooms, Mid-Autumn Festival at Gardens by the Bay is a great way to familiarise yourself with classic Chinese tales and cultural elements. Revisit the poignant love story of star-crossed lovers at The Butterfly Lovers lantern set, and walk under a 7-metre-tall moon gate (a traditional Chinese architectural feature symbolising reunion and completeness) at the eponymous Garden of Blooms lantern set. Wherever you turn, photo opportunities abound. Take a picturesque walk under a gorgeous canopy of handpainted lanterns of Colonnade of Lights or Our Secret Garden.
From Friday to Sunday, the gardens will also light up with dazzling performances at the Pavilion, a lantern set that doubles up as a stage. Look out for Blooming in Dance, a special stage presented by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea that will showcase four types of Korean traditional dance. The Royal Thai Embassy is also in on the action, with a Traditional Lanna Lanterns set inspired by the intricate architecture of the ancient Lanna Kingdom.
There's more to watch, including the beloved Garden Rhapsody light and sound show, where the Supertrees will 'dance' to a Mid-Autumn theme, Tales of the Moon. Don't forget to grab Asian street fare from the Food Street in Supertree Grove or take part in fun activities and workshops in the Cannonball room.
