Steamworks Transcontinental review Rate it

A grandiose affair, the Transcontinental took over the former women's waiting room in the Canadian Pacific Railway Station, dropped millions of dollars on a stunning, nostalgic interior and opened in 2007 with an expensive menu that offered everything from fish and chips to lobster. A few months later, the restaurant was rebranded as a pub (it's owned by the Steamworks Brewery) with a cheaper and less ambitious menu. Still, it's a beautiful room and there are far worse places to hole up on a rainy afternoon, share some chicken wings or calamari, down a few beers and catch up on those postcards you've been meaning to write.
