Time Out says

This fully accessible pop-up bar also has a wheelchair accessible dance floor and stage

For the first time, the largest arts festival in the Southern Hemisphere is now home to a fully accessible pop-up bar. Open for the five-week duration of Adelaide Fringe, Confession is located in the site of a former church in Port Adelaide and will feature a neon dance floor designed with wheelchair users in mind and a wheelchair-accessible stage.

On top of the stage and dance floor, there are also two super wide and accessible car parks at the front entry, three accessible bathrooms, wide ramps throughout the venue and legroom under tables for chair users.

The pop-up bar will be decked out with antique furniture and an industrial gothic aesthetic, paying homage to its previous life as a church. Order a drink from the bar and then grab a seat at one of the private 'confessional' booths while taking in the live music and talent. Drinks by Chalk Hill Wines, Pirate Life Brewing, Champagne Taittinger and Champagne Bollinger will be on offer.

The venture is brought to you by Shane Hyrhorec, a wheelchair user and the founder of accessibility organisations Co-Able and Push Mobility. For Hryhorec, this project is a culmination of his mission in life and in business to educate society about inclusivity and improve accessibility.

"Confession aims to resurrect Port Adelaide's live music scene after a tough period, and make sure everybody can join the fun," says Hryhorec. "It captures everything that is wonderful about Fringe in the one setting."

The bar will be open every Thursday through Sunday through Adelaide Fringe Festival, and you can find more information through the venue's Instagram page
