7 Towers Presents Sarah Kane's Crave

Advertising

Time Out says

The 7 Towers Theatre Company presents an exclusive, 2-night-only reading of Sarah Kane's rarely-produced, hauntingly beautiful CRAVE. Friday, March 20 and Saturday, March 21 at 8:00 at Salvage Vanguard Theatre. CRAVE features four characters, designated only by single letters, exploring their personal longings, fears, memories, and passions. The text alternates between fast-paced dialogue and shockingly vivid monologues as the characters alternately search for and run from love and personal relationships. Says the Guardian: "Kane's piece for four actors is a kind of theatrical keening, suffused with the tender longing we all have to love and be loved...The threat is our inability to make sense of a shifting universe, to really know another human being and keep love constant." 7 Towers' reading highlights Kane's disturbingly poetic language. Come join us for a rare chance to explore the often shocking, vivid images Kane creates through words and rhythms. CRAVE is the first production of 7 Towers' new Spring Reading Series--part of the company's commitment to expanding our season with exciting work. CRAVE will be directed by 7 Towers Artistic Director Christina Dennehy, and will feature 7 Towers Core Company Members Travis Bedard; Suzanne Balling, Sara Cormier, and Sam Mercer. Tickets are $10 and are available at the door. All proceeds from the Spring Reading Series will support 7 Towers' summer mainstage production of Patrick Marber's CLOSER, directed by Core Company member Amanda Gass.
