Austin Playback Theatre Workshop says
Everyone has a story. Austin Playback Theatre listens to that story and plays it back for the teller as shared. Using Improvisational skills with Playback Theatre forms, the show recreates the story as is: nothing added or changed. Performances are carried out by a team of actors, an emcee (called the conductor), and musician(s).

As the show begins, audience members respond to questions from the conductor, then watch as actors and musician create brief theatre pieces on the spot. Later, volunteers from the audience come to the stage to tell longer stories, choosing actors to play the main roles.

Come to the workshop Wednesday to learn more about Playback Improvisation and what it can offer you as an Improv performer.

Austin Playback Theatre has been performing in Austin for over 9 years. Created in New York in 1975, Playback Theatre is performed in 50 countries supported today by the Centre for Playback Theater. Come see what has kept this story rich format growing around the world.
