Austin Slam Ft. Danny Strack's Book Release

Time Out says

This week, we're pleased to bring you a feature from our very own Slammaster, Danny Strack!!! Surprisingly, this is Dny's first APS feature ever, despite being the guy who books features, makes the posters, runs the show from behind the scenes, creates these events, and is currently writing about himself in the third person. However, he has a new book coming out called 52 - his first book in three years - and it's chock full of goodness that I... er... "he" wants to share with you! Plus, it's a regular slam this week. Cool! I like regular slams! That means we'll have 13 or 14 poets in round one, cut to 6 in round 2, and the top 3 poets will square off in a final round for their share of $100 in cash prizes!!! Yay! I really really really like regular slams!! This slam will be hosted by Peter Nevland, and backed by DJ Chino Casino. More about Dny: Danny Strack has been performing poetry live for over a decade. He holds slam championship titles at national, regional and city levels. Wait, what? Really? Yeah: • 2012 National Group Champion w/ Austin Neo-Soul • 2007 Southwest Shootout Individual Champion • 2010 Austin Poetry Slam Individual Champ He is the Slammaster/Executive Director of the Austin Poetry Slam, and a five-time member / three-time coach of teams representing Austin at Nationals. The author of 10 full length books of poetry, Danny's performance oriented work is frequently used by students in forensics competitions. Danny is also a juggler and playwright associated with the Sky Candy Aerial Circus Arts School and has written two fully produced and well-received plays ("The Time Machine" in 2012 & "The Circus" in 2013). He is currently working on his first novel. He likes balloons, games, and is happy to be alive. Dny thinks he did a crappy job on his event image. It's a lot easier to create event images for other people than for myself... himself. What do you think?
