JASGA will recognize an exceptional contributor, Dr. William Tsutsui, who has been promoting friendships between Japanese and Americans through his scholarly research and lectures on , and his books Godzilla on My Mind: Fifty Years of the King of Monsters and Japanese Popular Culture and Globalization. We have also invited a guest speaker, Mr. Keiji Asakura, whose passion for urban design and healthy, connected, sustainable communities has had an impact throughout Texas and beyond. For Japanese traditional musical entertainment, Ms. Sumie Kaneko will play the shamisen music and sing jazz standards and her original songs.
