Art from the Streets (2006, 73 min.)

Art From the Streets is an all-volunteer program established in 1991 to provide a safe and nurturing environment for homeless people to produce art. They accomplish this mission by sponsoring twice weekly art “classes” and an annual show to sell their work. This film tells this story by tracking five of the artists over the course of a year.

After the film, Layton Blaylock, the film’s director, will answer questions from the audience.

This film is being screened as part of the First-Friday Film Series at Wildflower Church. Film screenings are the first Friday of every month in the Fellowship Hall at Wildflower Church, 1314 E. Oltorf. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and films begin promptly at 7 p.m. Our films will always be free of charge and open to the public, with water and lemonade provided. Everyone is encouraged to attend!
