Fable Records' 40th

Health Alliance for Austin Musicians' 10th

Tuesday, Sept 1st 7:54pm (Sunset) Threadgill's 301 W. Riverside Dr. Austin 78704

Austin, Texas: On Tuesday, Sept. 1st, Fable Records joins with the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians in a dual Anniversary Celebration at Threadgill's World Headquarters, as part of the Alliance's multi-venue HAAM Benefit Day. HAAM is celebrating their 10th year of service to the local music community. Fable Records is celebrating their 40th year. Fable brings back their 10th year "Celebration of Working Hardly" reviving that anniversary show's poster art done by Austin artist Henry Gonzalez.

Fable recording artists scheduled to perform include Extreme Heat, Beto and the Fairlanes w/guest Tee Double, Javier Chaparro & SalĂșd, Matt Wilson Band, and Robin Mordecai. The show starts at sunset (7:54pm).
In its four decades in Austin music, Fable is noteworthy for its recordings of Austin Original Artists whose releases have run the gamut of genres including Jazz, Rock, Latin, Fusion and Funk.

In 1985, Fable's first "Celebration of Working Hardly" was held to commemorate its 10th Anniversary. Now, 30 years later, Fable continues its tradition with a new Celebration and a new generation of artists. Fable released their 4th Matt Wilson CD this year entitled "Hundred Bucks" and have several new releases in the offing including John Mills Times Ten's sophomore CD and a new release by Extreme Heat.

Fable's newest artist is Robin Mordecai whose debut CD, "Here Goes Something" is slated for release in early October. Mordecai is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter/composer. His music is high-energy, formidable pop rock, with literate, thoughtful lyrics, inventive rhythms, and the unmistakable feel of an emerging artist who knows where he's going and what he wants to say.

All in all, one can hardly say that Working Hardly isn't working at Fable Records. Catch their work to benefit HAAM on Tuesday, Sept. 1st at Threadgill's South.
