Daniel Ortuño, Harry Gould Harvey IV, Moses Brown and Barry Elkanick, 'J-Card' Opening Reception Join us Friday evening, March 20th, for the opening reception of the group exhibition 'J-Card' in the ATM Gallery space. J-Card is a group exhibition inspired by the influence of the cassette tape on DIY subcultures and the experimental aspects of subsequent music scenes. The dimensions and arrangement of the work directly reflect the measurements of the art found on the tape— a creative conduit for musicians. This specific restricted measurement fascinates the artists' and within it exists a certain level nostalgia. In J-Card the tape is referenced as an art object specific to its surroundings and pushed beyond its modern irrelevance. Each of the four artists uniquely dismantle the false dichotomy between visual artist and musician, creating an experience contingent upon restriction within a space. A limited edition cassette including tracks from the artists will be released at the opening in conjunction with live performance artwork.
