we are proud & happy to announce the first date of the new reading & lecture series Reading Glasses at Beerland, Texas.

every Tuesday, the first installment of RG takes place on 12 April and features two local writers reading from their own work: Ash Smith and Tatiana Ryckman. please join us for an early evening respite from everyday life.

Thax Douglas writes poems inspired by bands' music and introduces bands with those poems....

Ash Smith is the author of the chapbooks Water Shed, Come Such Frequency, Pigeon of Tears and, forthcoming from Furtherother Bookworks, Divers Hands (as well as various other art & ephemera). She was a founding member of the journal & book series LRL (littleredleaves.com) and now lives in Austin, TX where she works in the web world. Recent activities include stepping on Legos, playing accordion badly and fermenting flour.

Tatiana Ryckman is the author of the fiction chapbook Twenty-Something. Her collection of flash nonfiction, VHS and Why it's Hard to Live, is forthcoming from Zoo Cake Press. She is Assistant Editor at Sunnyoutside Press and her work has been published with Tin House, Everyday Genius, Entropy, Hobart among others, which you can find at tatianaryckman.com.
