Austin Art in Public Places Program says
AUSTIN, TX – Art in Public Places (AIPP), a program of the City of Austin’s Cultural Arts Division of the Economic Development Department, invites the public to view concept renderings of new public art for Republic Square Park. Artists Joseph and Holly Kincannon of Kincannon Studios and AIPP staff will be available to answer questions about the proposed public art at the Sustainable Food Center Farmers Market Downtown from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Republic Square Park, 422 Guadalupe Street.

About the Artists: Kincannon Studios was selected to create original public artwork for Republic Square through a competitive process and was approved by the Art in Public Places Panel, Arts Commission, and City Council. Holly Kincannon is trained as an architect and stone carver and Joseph Kincannon has been working with stone for over 34 years. Their professional experience includes notable projects at the Palmer Events Center, Governor Ann Richards Memorial, Zilker Botanical Gardens, the Cathedral of St. Mary, St. Louis Cathedral Church, Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery, Bexar and Ellis County Courthouses, and the Bill of Rights Monuments in Phoenix, Arizona. They share a studio in east Austin where they have worked since 1992.
