When Sharon Arteaga turned fifteen, she convinced her parents that a video camera was a better investment than the Quinceanera they wanted her to have. Sharon is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and educator with the Austin Film Society. Sharon's films have screened at many festivals across the U.S. including Luna Fest, Cine Las Americas International Film Festival, and SXSW.

Sharon will present the "Four Steps to Indie Filmmaking" in an interactive workshop. The workshop can be applied to any stage of the process, from pre to post-production. Beginners are welcome!

Also, Sharon will show a clip from her newest project, Plane Pretend, a story about a young girl's first flight into a new country. Arteaga will be available for questions, discussions, and encouragement after the interactive workshop.
