The 84th Session of the Texas Legislature convenes in mid January. Join us before the Texas Secular Convention to let the legislature know that secular Texans vote, that we want evidence-based government policy, and that we want a stronger wall of separation between religion and our state government.
Location: South Steps of the Capitol.
CITIZEN LOBBY
After the rally, we will break into small groups so that we can visit the offices of the legislators that represent the districts we live in and the legislators on committees working on legislation that is important to secular constituents. Secular Texas will provide lobbying materials and instructions, talking points, and maps of office locations. Legislators and their staffs are friendly and welcome interaction with their constituents. There will be an emphasis on sex education reform. Read more about that here.
Parking: There is a visitors parking garage at 12th and San Jacinto within easy walking distance of the capitol grounds. An accessible route is also available from the parking garage.
Directions from the Hotel: Sheraton's Hotel at the Capitol is just down 11th Street from the Capitol Building. When leaving the front entry of the Sheraton, turn left (West) and walk four blocks. The Capitol will be on your right.
